Privacy policy
What happens to the details you send us for a roof repair price, in plain words.
In force from 29 October 2026. Last updated: 29 October 2026.
Who we are
Jumtu Darbi is the trading name of SIA "S. A. GROUP", registration no. 40103909345, VAT no. LV40103909345, Jukuma Vācieša iela 2G-79, Rīga, LV-1021, Latvia.
We decide what happens to the personal data you give us. In law, that makes us the “controller”.
Jumtu Darbi is a one-person business. The owner answers every privacy question himself. We don’t have a data protection officer, because a business of our size and kind doesn’t need one.
Questions about your data: call +371 2959 2100 or email info@jumtudarbi.lv.
In short
- We only collect what you send us to get a price and have your roof repaired.
- This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking.
- We never sell your data and never send you marketing.
- You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete what we hold about you.
What we collect and why
The Roof Check price form. When you send it, we receive: your roof type, the problems you ticked, how urgent it is, the roof size, anything you write in the notes, your roof photos if you add any, your name, phone number, email if you give one, your tick in the box, and the language of the page you used.
We use this to call you back, understand the job and give you a price. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
We need your name and phone number to reply. Without them we can’t give you a price. Email, notes and photos are optional.
Photos. Please photograph the roof only. Keep people, faces, car number plates and neighbours’ windows out of the picture. If a photo shows a person by accident, we don’t use it for anything except your quote, and it is deleted with your enquiry.
Calls, WhatsApp and email. If you contact us directly, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us. We use it for the same purpose and on the same legal basis as the form. WhatsApp is a service run by Meta. When you use it, WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy apply to what WhatsApp does with your data.
If the job goes ahead, we use your details to agree the work, do it and invoice you. The legal bases are our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)) and our duty to keep accounting records (Article 6(1)(c)).
Website server logs. Like every web server, ours records each visit: your IP address, your browser and device type (the “user agent”), the time and the page you asked for. We use these logs only to keep the site secure and working, for example to spot attacks and fix errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a safe, working website (Article 6(1)(f)). You can object to this, see “Your rights”.
About the tick box on the form
The tick box confirms two things: you have seen this notice, and you want us to contact you about your quote.
It is not what makes our use of your data lawful. That is the request you make, as explained above. So unticking a box later changes nothing on its own. Just tell us to stop, and we will stop contacting you and delete your enquiry.
Who else handles your data
We don’t sell or give your data to anyone for their own use. These companies handle it on our behalf, only to provide their service to us:
- Labiux OÜ (Estonia) runs the server that hosts this website and receives the form.
- Namecheap, Inc. (USA) provides the virtual server that Labiux OÜ uses. The server is located in the USA.
- An email delivery service sends each form submission to us by email.
- An email provider hosts the mailbox where we read your enquiries.
We give data to public authorities, such as the tax authority, only when the law requires it.
[to be confirmed] The email delivery service and the mailbox provider are not chosen yet. Their names will be added here.
Data outside the EU
The server that hosts this website and receives the form is in the USA. So your form details and server logs are transferred outside the European Union.
The protection for this transfer is the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (Commission Decision 2021/914). Namecheap’s data processing addendum includes these clauses. They are a contract that binds the provider to protect your data to EU standards.
You can ask us for a copy of these safeguards. Contact us as shown below.
[to be confirmed] We are confirming that the hosting company’s data processing agreement, with these clauses, covers this server.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don’t become a job: deleted 12 months after our last contact.
- Customers: invoices and other accounting documents are kept for at least 5 years, as Latvia’s Accounting Law requires (longer where that law sets a longer period). Job details such as photos and notes are kept until the warranty on the work ends.
- Website server logs: deleted after 30 days.
If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will, unless the law makes us keep it (for example, invoices).
[to be confirmed] These periods are being confirmed with the owner.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- see the data we hold about you and get a copy;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it deleted;
- have its use restricted, for example while we check a correction;
- object to our use of it based on legitimate interests (the server logs);
- get the data you gave us in a common digital format, or have it sent to someone else;
- withdraw any consent you gave, at any time. This doesn’t affect anything done before.
To use any of these rights, call +371 2959 2100 or email info@jumtudarbi.lv. It is free. We may ask you to confirm who you are, so we don’t give your data to someone else.
We reply within one month. If a request is complex, we can extend this by up to two more months, and we will tell you why within the first month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first and we will try to put it right.
You can also complain to Latvia’s data protection authority at any time: Datu valsts inspekcija (Data State Inspectorate), Elijas iela 17, Rīga, LV-1050, pasts@dvi.gov.lv, +371 67223131, www.dvi.gov.lv.
What we don’t do
- No automated decisions. A person, the owner, reads every enquiry and sets every price.
- No profiling.
- No selling or renting your data.
- No marketing emails or messages.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we update this page and the date at the top.
